Friday memes: Friday's Feast and Friday Fill-ins

Feast One Hundred & Eighty Two
March 7th, 2008

Appetizer
If you could be any current celebrity for one whole week, who would you want to be?

Gosh. I really don't think that I'd want to be a celebrity as they never seem to have a single iota of privacy. It's kind of like that with my job: I have to be careful to wear make-up and dress decently (even if I'm sick) because students are EVERYWHERE and they always want to introduce you to someone in their life at the least opportune time.

I suppose ... if I had to choose a celebrity ... I'd be George Clooney.

Soup
On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being highest), how much do you enjoy talking on the phone?

I HATE the phone. I have a cell phone that I make about one call a month on ... I have digital telephone that I don't use much. I screen my phone calls. I'd much rather email.

Salad
Name a charitable organization to which you have donated (or would like to).

I like Best Friends Animal Society. They're the charity that I support most.

Main Course
What is a food you like so much you could eat it every single day for a month?

Pizza. Without a doubt.

Dessert
Have you or anyone in your family had the flu this year?

Immediate family haven't had the flu this year. We get flu shots and avoid "iffy" situations. I haven't even had much of a cold in 2008. The most we've had is the occasional hairball (felines, only).

A woofie of another color (an' species!) ...

Mom's friend Rose sent this set of photos ...

Subject: Pink Dachshund
The momma Dachshund ("Tink") is fostering this pink piggy boy. His mother couldn't take care of him. He had his eyes closed when he first joined the fambly of weiner dogs, but now they are open. He is just a little bigger than Tink's other pups. She seems to love this little piggy more than the other puppies and she is nursing him back to health. He is the cleanest puppy ever because she licks him all the time. He has been named "Pink" ... which is a combination of "pig" and "Tink" ... and pretty obvious given his bright pink skin.

Isn't this one of the cutest mixed-breed famblies that you've ever seen?

Saturday Photo Hunt #58: PARTY!

PARTY!

The Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt theme for this week is PARTY!

This is a photograph taken on February 14, 1989.  It's a birthday PARTY!

The guest of honor is the woofie.  Her name was Peaches an' she was born in 1971.  She was Mom's.  The kitties at the "PARTY" for Peaches' EIGHTEENTH birthday were the "cats who came before" an' they were born on July 4, 1988, so they were six months old in this photo.

Mom's fambly were the wranglers holding the kitties for the photo an' Mom was the photographer.  Peaches an' the kitties made quick work of those carob cuppy-cakes with the sprinkles on top after the flashy box went "flash"!

From the left to the right:  Lacey Bunns an' Peaches wrangled by Grandma; Percy wrangled by our Uncle James; an' Cookie Monster wrangled by Grandad.

The only kitty who refused to cooperate with the PARTY photo was Meemaw.  She didn't like the little boy who was invited to the woofie birthday PARTY.  His name was Tommy (an' he's probably about twenty-two by now).  He used to "meow" at the kitties an' his voice was furry scary ... I've been told.

The sad thing is that Mom's woofie was helped to the Bridge about a month later (on March 9, 1989).  Mom's glad that she had this little PARTY for Peaches ... an' that she has a picture to help her to remember.
