With tomorrow being Election Day, Mom asked me to use my forum to ask you all to remind your humans to get out and vote! Mom always votes by absentee ballot, so she took care of her balloting issues last week. There are many important issues being bandied about in major cities (and minor ones, too) nationwide.
Those of you across the pond or living up there in the Great White North probably have your own special voting opportunities, too [it would be interesting to find out if you voted on the first Tuesday in November like we do here (well, the "we" I'm speaking of is American humans since we felines don't get to vote much except for contests with Skeezix or the 2Bs)] ... Anyway, exercise your right to vote and make your preferences heard.
Mom always tells her students that we don't have a right to complain if we're unwilling to take a few moments to vote.
Okay, okay ... I'll step down from my soapbox now ... Justdon'tforgettovote!!!

yes, ma'am--we heard our beans talkin' about when they was goin' to the poles. we know that's where they votes, but what does big sticks have to do wif it? ennyway, dad goes at 6 when they first open, cause there's not many beans there that early. mom goes at lunch (after 1pm), cause there's only a few there, then, too. but they 'spects lotsa people to be votin'!
Xing, Nitro, Ed, and Nels ... Thanks for using your influence to get your beans to vote. It's really important that we do whatever it takes ... You know, if cats got to vote, there wouldn't be a problem with low voter turn-out 'cuz we cats are FURRY civic-minded and we know what's important!

Oh Momma will be out and she knows how she'll vote and is going to be there! Thanks for the Reminder. Cheysuli has her hat and boots on and is going to try and vote again--although they've already turned her away once!
Amen, Daisymae!! Owr lady voted with an absentie ballet too. It's vary importunt evuryones peeple vote...yoo nevur know when an importunt cat issue arises
Up in the Canada they don't have a specific date. Elections are called by the Prime Minister when his term is up (every five years) or when he loses a non-confidence vote (meaning a majority of the House of Commons think he sucks at being Prime Minister) He asks the Governor General (the Queen's Represenative in Canada) to dissolve the Parliment. And then the election happens.
You know, that sounds kind of messy. They must need a lot of mops at the Parliment when an election happens.
They're talking about changing it so there's an election every four years in October, though.
My OTW votes when she can. She says, "I have a political opinion, and I'm not afraid to use it!"
Our beans always vote when it's ee-leck-shun time, but it sounds like the UK is the same as Canada and there is not a spee-siff-ick date.
Yep - our beans voted today!
* Today, November 7, is also "Dona Nobis Pacem" Day - spread the word.
Will do!
