It's a week until my FAVORITE holiday!

Mom reminded me that it's only a week until my favorite of all human food-related holidays: Thanksgiving. I've learned a lot in my twelve years of Thanksgivings (I'll give a run down of my thoughts on that subject next week) and so, I have to give "props" where they are due. Fudge Ripple taught me how to be persistant. Meows and pats on a human thigh tend to yield the most favorable results. Toby taught me that when Fudgie's way doesn't work, it's okay to reach up with your paw and try to snag yourself some turkey. Percy taught me the head-bob ("Food ... Yes ... Now!"). But the one who taught me how to camp out in the empty chair at the dinner table so that my presence is known and I'm fed was the Feline American runt: Lacey Bunns. Lacey was the master at securing more than her share of tidbits. For such a tiny girl, she had a huge appetite and a varied palate. I've gotten my ravenous appetite from Miss Bunns of Lace and I'll try just about anything ... Mmm .... All of this writing about Thanksgiving has gotten me hungry for turkey. Since it's still a week away ... ARGH! ... I'll have to settle for posting a Thanksgiving photo of Lacey Bunns in her place at the dinner table. This photo was taken in 1989 when Lacey was a little over a year old. For those who know how TINY Skeezix the Cat (celebrity blogger and pink-wearing manly man) is, he'd seem HUGE next to Lacey Bunns. If you remember, save me some white meat and some gravy ... Nummy!

I'm glad someone out there likes Thanksgiving. It is the only holiday that I really do not like. For me it is a time of either terrible turky at home or good turkey and annoying relatives somewhere else.

Is there such a thing as "terrible turkey"? In my book ... ALL turkey is WONDERFUL turkey because it's plentiful and Mom lets me have as much as I can eat. Perhaps you haven't "met" the right turkey? Mom likes to make hers like some Food Network guy named Alton Brown with a salt brine and some apples/cinnamon stix/silvered onions stuffed up the turkey's "hoohah" ... Mmmm ... When dinner's ready, Mom starts "flippin' us the bird" in a literal sense (not figuratively like a bunch of you perverts are thinking) ... I'm good at catchin' turkey mid-flight and I'm much faster than Cocoa Puff ...

So, Teague, my point is not to right off Thanksgiving just because of a few less-than-stellar turkeys. As I am prone to say (especially since I live with five neuter-boys) "Don't let the turkeys get you down!"

Ugh ... I have turkey on the brain and can't seem to type tonight ... I meant "don't WRITE off turkey" ... Ugh. Senior moment? I am nearly thirteen afterall.

You know Chey isn't a big cat and yet she has a really big appetite!

I hope you get lots of turkey! I'd let you have my share of turkey, but our turkey day was last month, and we don't get turkey because my OTW doesn't like it much.

Looks like you got the best seat in the house - or are you sitting at the "kitty table?"

Lacey Bunns always got the best seat at the table because she'd get there first and would refuse to move. For someone really tiny, she had iron will.
