The Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt theme for this week is totally appropriate for those of us who live on the west coast 'cuz it's time for the Nordstrom's Half-Yearly Sale for Women and Kids when everyone converges on the shoe department! Yep, this week's theme is SHOES!
Although I wouldn't be caught dead wearin' shoes, Mom is a self-professed girly who has a shoe "problem." It's actually only a problem to men: Women totally relate. Mom has eleventy-squillion plastic boxes containing shoes and about half of those boxes hold BLACK shoes.
I have two different "shoes" photos to share with you.
The first is Mom's most comfy pair of shoes. They're Nike running shoes; gray ones with purple details. As you can plainly see, Mom has nearly worn the tread off the ball-part of each shoe. She walks for exercise and wears out a pair of shoes about efurry three months. She has a little silver tag on her right shoe with her name and contact information in case some one runs over her or she gets sick. Thankfully, she's never been run over or incapacitated: She always makes it home.
The second photo is of our utility room. This room holds lots of different stuff: the computer, Christmas decorations, a bicycle, way too much wrapping paper, Mom's inflatable Sea Eagle kayak ... And the "overflow" boxes of shoes that live on a six foot bookshelf. She uses a step ladder to reach the ones on top (and she got the little scar above her lip when the boxes came crashing down on her head one evening!). I say "overflow" 'cuz Mom has a closet with shelves for shoes, too.
As you can see from the picture, Mom's got all kinds of shoes. I sometimes like to play with the shoes 'cuz the espadrilles have long ribbons that are fun to bite and bat about. Mom won't like me sayin' so, but she's got some gun-boats for feet. She's pretty tall, so her size 9 1/2 or 10 shoes keep her from pitching forward and falling on her face. I can fit both my front legs ... all the way to the SHOULDERS ... into her shoes!
Of the shoes in the boxes, Mom likes to wear some butt-ugly Birkenstock thongs the most. They're red and they stain her feet if it's damp outside, but she wears them efurrywhere on weekends and vacations. I didn't post a photo of them 'cuz, like I said, they're ugly.

I have never seen such an organization of shoes as I see of your mother's in those containers. That's really something.

Wow, your mum has lots of shoes! My kity (Plume) loves when my shoes have lace because she plays with them.
BTW, thanks for stopping by
We think your Mom might just have slightly more shoes than the maid! Who wears size 11! Last summer she had these butt-ugly rubber birkenstocky like things and Karl sharpened his claws in them every day! So I guess they went to shoe heaven because this summer she has wooden sandals. Karl doesn't like those so he sharpens his claws on the old tree branch outside now. I sharpen my claws on the side of the human beds, hahahahahah!
Anastasia
Our Mum nearly fainted when she saw all those shoes your Mum has..that is a lot of shoes!
