San Diego Firestorm 2007

Hi efurryone ...
I know that a number of you have expressed interest in our health and safety in light of the horrible fires (EIGHT at this posting!) that have overtaken San Diego County in the past thirty-six hours.
Please don't worry for us as we are perfectly safe at home. The fires are to the northeast and southeast of us, and are quite a distance away. We live furry close to a beach called Imperial Beach near the southwestern-most tip of the United States. It is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that anything other than polluted and ash-filled air will reach us.
Mom's school was in session today, but ninety percent of the kids were picked up by their parents before lunchtime. Schools in her district will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday) due to unhealthy levels of pollutants in the air. It's likely that schools will be closed on Wednesday also (but not the whole week like happened in October 2003 with the Cedar Fire).
Since the weather is unseasonably hot (81 degrees at 4:00 PM), we're experiencing Santa Ana winds of unpredictable strength and direction, and the air is so thick that you could cut it with your claws, Mom shut efurrything tightly and turned on the a/c for our comfort.
If it hasn't happened already, our "governator" will declare San Diego County a "disaster area" and call out the National Guard to help to fight the fires.
Please pray for the people who've been evacuated and who've lost their homes. Also, please keep the horsies an' other livestock in your purrayers 'cuz lots of 'em have been evacuated an' I'm sure that they're furry scared.
The Feline Americans and I would like to thank you for your care and concern while we ride this out. It has been said already that this season's fire outbreak has been the worst in San Diego history ... an' it's only been thirty-six hours. Sigh ...

DaisyMae, Mom and I are so thankful you are O.K. When she saw that San Diego was on fire we thought about you and prayed you were O.K. Mom says she has never seen anything like this before. The magnitude of all these fires, from Malibu to San Diego. She used to live down in So Cal but that was before my time. She said she hated the Santa Ana winds when they came up. We sometimes get hot Northern winds and that is when we get apprehensive up here in No Cal. So glad you are safe.

We are glad to hear that you are okay. We have paying more attention to the one near St. Clarita, as that was Momma's home once. It sounds like it is so much worse in San Diego. I am glad you are safe.
This is such bad news, but I am so glad that you guys are okay and are not in the line of fire so to speak. I'm sure that your governator will come to the rescue.
This is very serious problem, we see international news from Taiwan here too. And we are also worry very much~!! I hope it could turn smaller, or it will waste too much money and natural enviroment and lives~!!
