Today I wanna give a "shout out" to our grandma who is celebratin' her 62nd birthday today ... Happy Birthday, Gran! We love you an' wanna give you whiskery smooches! Mwwaaahhhhhhh!
Oh, an' it's also another important day ...
Thursday, November 8th, is Astro Kitty Day all 'round the Cat Blogosphere.
The U.S. space shuttle -- Discovery, STS 120 -- is on a 15-day mission in space at the International Space Station. It launched on Tuesday Oct 23 and landed at Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday November 7.
Today we're welcoming them home and congratulating them on their successful mission.
This is the official emblem for Discovery, STS 120.
Pam Melroy was Commander of this mission and only the second woman EVER to command a space shuttle. With the shuttle program winding down, she may be the last. Her nickname is "Pambo" and she gave the shuttle crew similar nicknames: Zambo, Longbow, RoboChick, Flambo, Rocky (they couldn't work his out!)... and Bo-Ichi.
If you're participating you may want to come up with your own Astro Kitty nickname.
Our nicknames are:
Hambone: Cocoa Puff
Flame-On: Pumpkin
InvisaBiscuits: Sparky Fuzzypants
Dumbo: Lucky Charmz
An' mine ... Magenta Nebula: DaisyMae Maus
