Those of you who know Mom in person know that she's colored her hair so many times (an' made so many shade mistakes) that she doesn't even know her original shade anymore. Case in point: Mom's hair is currently a kind of sweet potato-y color over an ash lt. brown.
So ... suffice it to say ... there are many, many photos of Mom with "bad hair" to choose from. But, Mom would likely punish us severely if we put any of 'em on the innernets for you all to see.
Our photo for this week's theme is the less hazardous-to-our-stash-of-Temptations: Uncle James. He was substituting at Mom's school during Homecoming Week in October of 2006 when he lost his mind and painted his hair red an' navy (the school's colors) for a spirit day. As this photo was bein' taken, he was making his furry best "heavy metal dood" face an' screeching "RHHHAAAAAAARRRR" at Sparky Fuzzypants an' Charmee (Uncle James is far scarier than Mom when he shouts, so Charmee an' Sparky didn't realize that he was only playin' with them as they peeled down the hallway an' hurled themselves under the bed).
I suppose that Uncle James wouldn't look quite so vomit-inducing if he hadn't painted his goatee, too.

oops and cats.
Yikes, that might make me run and hide too. Loud noises make me very scairt. But I think Uncle James is probably very nice.
ps: I wish I could see your mom's sweet potato/ash brown hair color!
Hehe, it sounds like your Mom is having the same hobby as me: Coloring Hair :-) I also know too well about shade mistakes and unfortunate outcomes.
Your uncle James looks perfect, just like he had a good hair day :-)
Have a great weekend!

We still can not access your blog in firefox. We never use IE but we can view your site in IE. Only problem is we have been trying for some time to leave a comment and IE won't let us. So we're stymied. All we can view in Firefox is your blog code - nothing else! We noticed this yesterday. We can view your profile page if we google your blog name. Is anyone else having this problem?
AHA! You're back in Firefox. We finally figured out the secret to leaving a comment in IE - click no to non-secure content. And in desperation, we closed firefox, opened it and cleared out the cache. And here you are, at last! Whew! We're so glad to see you again.
Now we need a nap!

heehee... despite lookin' like a tough guy, it sounds (and appears) like dis James is one cool cat.
Mommy went through a hair coloring thing too, but by using the unnatural-looking colors in streaks. Your Mommy's hair color sounds purrty cool.
Mommy used to entertain her niece by coloring her late doggie with markers. The doggie loved it.
