Hi efurryone ...
Mom was furry disappointed last week when California voters approved Proposition 8. She has many friends who are gay or lesbian, an' who got married over the past few months when marriages between same-sex couples were valid an' legal.
She signed a pledge to Repeal Proposition 8. If you're a California voter an' are unhappy about the discrimination that Prop 8 will put into our state constitution, you can join her and over 100,000 members of the Courage Campaign.
Californians are progressive thinkers and have a live-an'-let-live philosophy on just about any topic. It's odd that such discriminatory legislation would pass ... Please sign this pledge an' help make marriage a possibility for ALL Californians.
Thanks!

We were sad that that happened and will go sign. I'm proud that you displayed the badge!
We were disappointed when that passed in California and a little shocked that it did so as well.
I was very surprised and sad when I found out that it passed, too. Maybe it was written in a way that was confusing which way to vote?
We were sort of surprised to hear about the bill. We're thinkin' it will be repealed ...
We hope that you're right, Lux ... It's not fair to treat same-sex couples differently from heterosexual couples under the law.

Mommy used to live in California and was sad to hear a step was taken back instead of forward. Humans are a silly bunch!
Mom thinks that is very sad as well. She doesn't understand why people get all upset over gay marriage.

I wish I could lived there an halp u. Sending hugs ur way. :)
The Woman said she's embarrassed to be a Californian right now because of Prop 8. I am going to tell her about the Repeal site, because she will want to go there.
Mom was very disappointed that EVEN in California this kind of thing passed. Our former Dad always told us that California was progressive and special. He had much disdain for Virginia's politics, but this election we weren't much different.
(Mom's old high school boyfriend is gay and has been with his partner for a very long time now. At least they live in a progressive part of Northern Virginia.)
