Havin' a bath on Friday!

We wanna wish a furry happy birthday to our Uncle Jerry who lives in Seattle.  He is SIXTY-ONE today!

Efurryone in the whole blogosphere knows that Cocoa Puff is a big boy. What you might not know is that Puffy has a tough time contorting his bulk into a configuration that is useful for grooming ... so certain aspects of his body don't get as much attention as they should. Mom brushes him regularly, but lately ... Puffy's been flaky. Flakiness isn't a problem if you're a white cat like Charmee, but Puffy is nearly entirely black, so white tell-tale flakes are kinda obvious. What to do? What to do?

Mom tried to hire one of us to groom Puffy's more unreachable parts, but that didn't fly (in fact, I was heard to proclaim "Heck no!" in my loudest voice).

Mom tried to get Grandma to help her to wrangle Puffy into a bath, but Grandma remembered how badly her hand swelled the last time Puff was bathed when he sunk his fangs into the fleshy part of her hand ... so that idea was out.

Squirt gun and towel? Nope. Too much like a punishment.

Large buckets of clean and soapy water? Nah. That seems to much like drowning.

Dry shampoo? Unh, uh. We're tryin' to GET RID of the flakes. What to do?

Wipes ... lots and lots and lots of cat wipes from Target. And they did the trick splendidly. Puffy's only complaint was the fact that the wipes are "wet" an' that they're COLD on ol' spots #13 an' #14. But his fur dried furry quickly to a shiny, clean-scented black ... an' Puffy was proud to pose for some photos demonstratin' his handsomeness. Isn't he a looker? He's as shiny as the black masheen an' purrin' just about as loudly! Whoo! Whoo!

Check the dood out! He's smokin' ...

So if you're a fuller-figured kitty or you're a geezer-ette like me who may be less flexible than in days past, tell your momma to go to Target an' pick up some bathing wipes for you. These actually work an' don't leave a greasy or waxy film on your furs ... An' they're especially for kitties! They come in a white plastic box with eighty wipes inside an' cost just $4.99. Since they were such a good deal, Mom was okay with using ten wipes for one cat bath. An' the wipes don't smell too girly. I know that ManCats like to smell clean, but not flowery. Mom plans to do another bath next week for maintenance an' additional flake removal. Flakes are for biscuits, right? Uh, wait a minute ... Biscuits are good, right? Uh, oh ... I'm confused.

We use wipes too - they are great, we don't mind them at all!

Wow... Cocoa sure is a big boy! I don't think we have kitty wipes in Australia. We have Target, but no kitty wipes. I'm pretty good at keeping myself clean though. Might be harder when I'm older...

Very good idea, but I dont think we have those here. What a shame.

My trouble is lots of floof, its not easy being long haired. I have to visit the salon once a year.

We like the wipes, too. A couple of seconds in the microwave will warm then so they are not so cold on spir 313 and #14.

Cocoa Puff does look nice and sparkly clean now.. Our mum buys big wipes for when we have been in the mud. They are called 'Grubby Cat wipes'.
