Mom was actin' a little more odd than normal today 'cuz it's March 19th. She 'splaned to us that when she was a youngster, she used to babysit for some stock car drivers who lived a few houses away. She babysat from ninth grade through her senior year of high school to make enough money for her "expenses" like a letterman's jacket, class ring, prom, driver's license, and yearbooks. She made about ten dollars a weekend (back when the going rate for babysitting was about a dollar an hour). But I digress ...
That little boy that Mom "sat" for (on?) turned TWENTY-NINE today. Mom is feelin' O-L-D. She first met that little boy, Kevin, when he was still a diaper-wearin' sixteen months old. Sigh. He was a cutie. We wonder what directions his life took an' really have no way of findin' out. So we'll wish "FLK" (formerly little Kevin) a happy last birthday in his twenties.
Sigh. It's okay, Mom.

Mom says she would feel sorry for your mom except for two things:
1. Her boy, Mr Karate, will turn 29 next month.
2. When she was in high school she babysat for a baby that was born on March 16, 1969. That little baby just turned 40 a few days ago.
Me, I feel your pain.
*smootchies!*
Our human knows some young people who are over 30 now too and she used to baby sit for them!
Tell your mommy that she's still young at heart!!
Our Mom knows teh feelings too! Her babies are 36 and 38! Her oldest grandbaby is 17!
Old is a state of mind... Of course if your bones and muscles hurt that don't help!!
My Mommie remembers babysitting for about that same rate, too!
Aww, yer Mom aint old, DaisyMae! Now The Big Thing, HES old...
The first infant mum every got to care for will be 40 this summer. He was borned the day before they first landed on the moon.
my mom babysat for 50 cents an hour... so, she is probably even older and her kids are also in their early 20s.
We need to take care of them... they buy us good stuff.
love and purs to all of you
DaisyMae, my mom's birthday was March 19 and she turned 51 this year! That's way older than your mom. I'm proud to have Mom as a fellow geezer.

Yep, moms get that funny feeling! Our mom's birthday is coming up too, let's see if she behaves herself. It's the same day as mine. Purrs, Siena
You commented about the harness... At first it weighed me down too, but now I tolerate it 'cos I finally get outside! I don't come when called and that's the reason why mom won't let me run loose. My sisfur Siena never had to wear a harness. Hrmpf! Purrs, Chilli
