Efurrybody,
Please tell your 'beans (so that they can tell all of their friends) "don't pump gas on May 15th!"
in April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon
overnight.
On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places (It's $3.49 a gallon at the four stations down the street from my house!).
There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50
dollars to fill up.
If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and let's try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

You go DMM! We're with you.
WOO HOO! Our beans are with you, too. Well so are us Ballicai, but then we kitties never pump gas anyways.
Our fuel is even worse here. Mum worked it out furr us cuz our gallons are bigger than your gallons**, and a gallon of diesel costs UK drivers around $7. Petrol is fractionally cheaper.
**(US gallon =3.785 litres
UK gallon =4.546 litres)
Thank you for reminding me to remind my mom!
She drives more than 60 miles a day to and from school ... she feels like she's working to gas up!
Mick
uncle jerry is talking this up all over the place and is getting lots of folks to agree to not pump gas on the 15th.
mama won't either.

Hi,
I have two kitties & I read everyones cat blogs, hopefully soon my kittens will have blog too. Anyone the gas out is a urban legend, if you want more information check out: http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/nogas.asp
Sorry, just wanted to let you since I heard about one last year and then someone told me to check snopes.com which is a website for urban legends.
Our Mommy too. I says she just needs ta see Mini if she wants gas. Pewwwwwww!
Purrrrrrrs,
Sanjee, Boni Maroni, Mini, Pepi and Gree
Pee Ess. Hope yore Mommy hadda good momy's day! Happy 'lated one to her!
Our mommie won't need to buy gas, but this whole thing is crazy. I think gas will be worse by the end of summer. If we repaired our decrepit refineries we could produce our own but there are those in congress that do not want to do that... so we have to buy from the middle east and support the terrorists we are fighting. It is all political and will never change until we can use our own refineries.
Mommie thinks gas will be 4.50 by September
It is already bad in Europe. That is why people take buses and trains and walk
Mom and Dad's cars are filled so they won't have to get gas tomorrow. Dad was upset, he didn't want to take the car into town to take Mom out for Mother's day cause it would be needing gas tomorrow for the doctor's appointments. And he definitely wanted to go along with no pumping gas on the 15th. Mom told him we will be in town so we'll get it on Mother's day. So Dad was happy with a full tank and Mom was happy cause she got to go to her favorite mexican restaurant for dinner for Mother's day. All were happy. Sure hope your Mom had a really good Mother's day DaisyMae.

Thanks, efurrybody ... Urban Legend or not, we have to do something as this whole gas thing has gotten monstrously out-of-control. Mom's black masheen only needs filling up every nine or ten days 'cuz it's furry fuel-efficient (and tiny) ... She doesn't think that she'll need to buy gas 'til about Thursday ... I keep thinking about how many bags of Temptations® she can buy with $30.00.

Good idea! Peoples don't seem to want to slow down driving and we haf to do somefin. Purrsonally we don't like the metal monster but we'd haf to walk to da vet if Mom couldn't drive.
Da poor peoples dat can't afford gas are da ones this gas prices are hurting da most.
Daddy is an ekkonomics proffessor so we hears all da stuff about dis.
According to snopes, these gas outs don't work:

The U.S. actually has very low gas prices. Go to Canada, or to Europe if you want to see high gas prices. Gas is very, very expensive here in Europe (even more expensive than in Canada, which is more expensive than the U.S.), so a lot of people take public transit. It's too bad more areas in the U.S. don't have better public transit.
We won't get any gas today! Promise! We won't eat any cabbage either! Har!
Thanks for stopping by our blog. It's very nice to meet you.
Lucky for us, the Feeders take mass transit everywhere and do not own a car.
