The Friday's Feast chef is takin' a well-deserved vacation this week and so, has no questions ... The questions below are from Michael whose blog can be found at http://valtool.blogspot.com.
Appetizer - What was the first job you ever had?
The first job that paid was "babysitter" when I was fourteen. He was a wonderful baby and I sat for him every Saturday night for four years. He spoiled me for kids ... I don't want any of my own that don't have four legs and fur.
The first job that I had a W-2 for was a ten-day stint at a Taco Bell (location now defunct) that used to be right across from the school where I've now taught for thirteen years. I got hired at Taco Bell so that I'd have something on my resume to get a better job. I got the "better" job a few days after being hired at Taco Bell. They were angry that I abandoned them so quickly, but the better job at Big 5 Sporting Goods lasted for 3 years: June 10, 1986 - June 10, 1989.
Soup - (Taken from Bravo’s 'Inside the Actor’s Studio') - Name a profession you have always wanted to try.
Drummer in a rock band. Or licensed/bonded dog walker.
Salad (also from the Actor’s Studio) - Name a profession you would NEVER want to try.
Snake handler? Garbage collecter? Exterminator? All horrible in my book! But the one I'd least want to have would be religious leader.
Entree - (also from the Actor’s Studio) - What is your favorite sound in the world?
DaisyMae's purr. It's deep, rich, and very throaty. She sounds supremely content when she's purring, and her contentment enhances my calm. All is right in the world for me when I'm pettin' DaisyMae and she's purring.
Dessert - (and from the Actor’s Studio) - If there is a Heaven, what would you like to hear from God when you arrive?
How about: "It's about time! Your pets have been waiting for you! They're right over there ... Have a nice afterlife!"
