In Honor of American Veterans Efurrywhere ...

In honor of Veterans' Day 2007, I'm posting this email sent to Mom from her friend Lana who lives in South Dakota.

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the VETERAN, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.

It is the VETERAN who salutes the Flag ... And it is the VETERAN who serves under the Flag!

It is time for US to salute the VETERANS who have served our nation and protected our freedoms.

ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM, AS VETERANS KNOW THAT THE OATH OF ALLEGIANCE HAS NO EXPIRATION DATE.

We can be very proud of our young men and women in the service no matter where they serve. And we can be very proud of those veterans who are not so young who served our country around the globe and protected our freedom to the best of their abilities. God Bless them all!!!

"You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result."
Mahatma Gandhi

HAPPY VETERANS' DAY TO OUR GRANDAD (on the right) AN' TO OUR UNCLE FRANK (on the left)! THANK YOU FOR SERVING YOUR COUNTRY AS MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVY!

Thanks for the great tribute! We would like to say Happy Veterans Day in memorial to 3 Great Grand Pa beans who severed their country in the Army and the Air Force!

The photo of the man in the wheelchair being the only one standing up is very thought provoking. I am very proud of all the men and women who served our country. My grandfather was a Veteran of the Vietnam war, but he is not alive any more so I never got to meet him. A big Thank You to all of our Veterans on this special day.
