Friday's Feast #49

Feast One Hundred & Seventy Two
December 14th, 2007

Appetizer
Make up a word and give us its definition

Celebidiot ... Noun.  sell-ebb-ih-dee-aht.  A person elevated to celebrity status due to money, fame, questionable talent, or just plain big-mouthedness who is a complete moron.  See "Britney Spears," "Paris Hilton," "Michael Vick," et. al.

Soup
What is currently your favorite song?

I don't have a favorite current pop song, but since it's the Christmas (or other non-specific winter-solstice holiday) season, I will tell you that my favorite holiday song is "O Holy Night" performed either by a choir or by John Berry.  If you haven't heard the John Berry version, get thee to iTunes and give a listen.  The man has pipes.

Salad
What’s at the top of your Christmas wish list this year?

Six additional links and engraving of "November 27, 2007" on the Return to Tiffany heart charm necklace that my girls gave me for my fortieth birthday.   I plan to take it to the Tiffany & Company store in Fashion Valley tomorrow morning and turn it in for the adjustments so that I can enjoy it.

Main Course
Name a scent that reminds you of someone special in your life.

There used to be a men's fragrance back in the early 1980s called Matchabelli that you could buy at any drugstore.  The boy that I ... as a ninth grader ... was completely infatuated with wore it on the night that I slow-danced with him.

It's been unavailable for twenty years (as has he, I'm sure), but I'm sure that a whiff of that scent would take me back ...

Dessert
Who is someone on television that you feel probably shouldn’t be, and why?

My students keep referencing some fool named Tila Tequila who has a "reality" show on MTV.  So I'd remove her from television.  In fact, anyone who has a "reality" show should be removed from the airwaves because they are horrible role models for our youth and are at least partly responsible for the lack of morals/ethics/good sense being displayed by teens and young adults in recent years.  Oh, and they can't dress for crap either.  Gosh ... Get some panties, ladies (and I use the term ladies loosely ... about as loose as they are!  MEOW!).

*giggle*, I loved reading your Friday Feast! And my Mom laughed, reading about the scent you mentioned -- she remembers "Prince Matchabelli", too! And she feels exactly the same as your mom about Britney Broccoli Spears, Paris Hilton, et al.

I am enjoying my new friend Norma Jeane! She and I get along as well as if we were littermates, *smile*. Thank you so much -- she is so pretty!

Purrs and snuggles from Marilyn!
