FIRE News: UPDATE

As of this posting, the winds have died down a little bit allowing helicopters to be sent into the affected zones.

One of the fires has moved near to the EastLake area that is about fifteen miles northeast of us. We are still totally safe where we are and won't likely be evacuated ... The air is still horrible an' the black masheen is covered in ashes.

Mom's school district has several schools in the EastLake area, so Chula Vista High School (where Mom worked as a student teacher) has become a shelter. More schools in her district ... including hers ... are likely to become shelters, so her superintendent closed the district schools for the rest of the week as a precaution.

We're happy to have Mom home for the week for cuddles an' stuff, but would prefer having her at work if it would mean that people wouldn't have lost their homes ...

As mentioned in the previous post, this is the worst fire disaster that San Diego has experienced ... ever.

The 2003 Cedar Fire closed schools for a week countywide. It is entirely possible that schools could be closed longer if the fires continue burning at their current rate.

Most of the fires are ZERO PERCENT CONTAINED and continue to engulf everything in their paths. The winds have taken sparks and embers across freeways and from mountain to mountain ...

Please continue to keep San Diego in your purrayers ...

Thank you for the update. We were worried about all of you. Our Lady is worrying about lots of people and animals and she hasn't stopped listening to fire news on the radio since it started. We've got friends in Malibu and Arrowhead and Canyon Country and Orange County and San Diego. It's very very scary!

Hi Daisy,
My Mommy and I wanted to know if you guys were okay? The fires have been all over the news. I know San Diego is huge. I hope you are in a safe spot.
We're stuck posting from work. that just means we can't visit every blog every day. Mommy is working on getting a laptop.
Re; Friday Feasts. Your momther has very good taste in sunglasses. My mommy buys the kind you get in drugstores that fit over your glasses. Ugly, i know, but cheap.
Re: CSi. They never connected the reason for the first three miniature killings with the later ones. Or did I m,iss something?
Take care,
Muffy & Mommy

Please stay safe. I just found out that my uncle and his family, who live in Orange County, may have to evacuate soon. This is very upsetting.

I am so sorry to hear about those horrible fires I hope you are safe and far away from things. If you need to get away I would like to invite you to my house on Sunday. I know you won't want to party but it might do you good to get away from things. Check out my blog for the details, and hope to see you. My thoughts are with you, stay safe.

We are glad that you are safe where you are in San Diego. Our grandparents called from Mission Viejo to let us know they are safe too - just lots of ashes on everything.

We are busy purring and praying for all of the people and 4-legged ones and winged ones in California.
