A Furry Pile of Black(ish) Cats are Team Lounging!

Tillie, Tiger, Treasure, Georgia, and J.J. have configured themselves in the shape of the five Cat-O-Lympic rings for their Team Lounge!  Check them out an' be amazed at both their athletic prowess an' the coordination of their team uniform:  Tortie, Stripes an' cool black combine for a classic (an' classy) look that telegraphs just how athletically this group has performed in its Team Lounging effort!

How will they stack up next to the other teams in this cutthroat competition?  Only time will tell.

One thing I do know is that the Team Lounging competition has now CLOSED!  Which group of athletes will be the gold-, silver-, and bronze-medallists?  Stay tuned to find out!

Just in time; Team Lounging with China Cat Sunflower an' Miss Willow!

China Cat an' Willow have been Valentines of Feline Americans an' our close furriends for YEARS!  So it's only fitting that these lovely ladies are the last of the athletes in the Team Lounging competition!

As you can see, these athletes are utilizing a laundry basket of clothes fresh from the dryer as their unjique lounge platform!

How was this stunning effort achieved?  Well, China Cat Sunflower ... in the glorious orinch uniform ... spied the unguarded basket of clothes an' snuggled her way in to snooze for awhile (at least 'til the clothes lost their 'warm') an' Miss Willow, not to be denied a soft, warm lounging spot, piled on top of her teammate!  You can recognize Miss Willow by her fetching tri-color team uniform!

Purrsonally, I have not seen a better use of laundry in all of my nine lives!  This lounge effort is a crowning achievement for two intrepid athletes.

Mona and Weenie are Team Lounging with their cousins!

This is our most populated Team Lounging entry yet!  Wow!  Eight live competitors (we cannot include the leopard spotted 'member' beneath the woofies although it kinda looks like a kitty's furs).  Mona an' Weenie have gathered their cousins an' momma, too, for their Team Lounging entry an' they're posed on a beige lounging platform to best display their Dachshund uniforms!  You can find them at their bloggie Mona & Weenie.

It isn't efurryday that one is able to convince one's cousins an' momma to rigorously train for such a competitive Olympic event as Team Lounging, but when one is able ... an' does it as well as these intrepid woofies (an' momma) ... well, it's just poetry in lounging!

Mona was careful to state that she is in the wire-hair uniform while her brofur, Weenie, is being gripped on the snout by momma.  The other five athletes in the photo are Dachshunds owned by Auntie Judy who are taking time from their other athletic contests to participate as part of Mona and Weenie's Team Lounging contingent.

Whisppy's Furries are Team Lounging!

The Furries of Whisppy are Team Lounging an' have entered as an interspecies team of Whisky the woofie an' Tutu the kitty!

Notice how their competition entry is a virtual 'yin and yang' of placement on the lounge platform!  Oh, an' don't let the purple an' gray color of the platform distract your attention from the athletes' stunning uniforms!  Whisky is resplendent in white while Tutu's torty furs look especially beautiful!

The Kwee Cats are Team Lounging!

The Kwee Cats are Team Lounging!  Check 'em out as they make the fullest use of their lounge platform in a double-decker effort!  These competitors are true lounge athletes!

From the lower level on the left in the gray an' white uniform is Sneaky Pie spooning with Odysseus who's dressed in the natty black an' white team uniform.

In the upper lounging position on the back of the sofa in the all black uniform is Oliver in a head-to-head match up with his lounge partner.  Rounding out the Kwee Cat's entry is Pyewhackit wearin' the white with gray tiger stripes.

How will this team rank among all the entries in this grueling and highly competitive athletic competition?  With it being the 2012 Cat-O-Lympics, anything can happen!

Multispecies Lounging from the Legacy Chronicles!

Casey the Boxer an' sister, Cinderella, are making good use of their lounge platform in this first entry from the the Legacy Chronicles.  Notice how they're virtually 'butt to butt' in this head-to-head match up featuring woofies vs. kitties!

In this second Team Lounging entry for this 2012 Cat-O-Lympics competition, we have siblings Pigeon an' Scribbles givin' it their very best in this athletic endeavor.

Where the woofies lounged 'butt to butt' to cover as much of the platform as possible in their lounging effort, the kitties are instead 'head to head' an' seem almost in the coveted cuddle position.

Our furry bestest furriends, Ayla, Iza an' Marley, are Team Lounging in a furry unique way:  They're actually trying to take up the same place on the lounging platform in a veritable 'fur pile' ...  Ayla an' Iza are the Meezer girls on the right, an' wearing the stunning orinch uniform is little brofur Marley on the left.  It seems to me that Ayla might be trying to smoosh Marley just a tad!

Now for a brief intermission: BLOGOVERSARY!

I'm taking a tiny break from the competition of Team Lounging to celebrate!  I was alerted by Meow Meowmans that today, July 10, 2012, is my SIXTH Blogoversary!  My very first post was made on this date in 2006 after much coercion of Mom ... who wasn't thrilled to be "used" for her thumbs an' typing skills.

I wanna say "thank you" to all of the readers out there who have made my bloggie well-read an' have kept me in-the-loop when things weren't so good.

I wanna shout out to Skeezix the Cat for showing Mom how to make "flats" of us (especially ME) to take efurrywhere so we could meet famous folks like Cheysuli an' Ichiro an' Gemini an' make furrever furriends like Mr. Emerson an' Little Nicky, Ayla, Iza, an' Marley at Mark's Mews an' all of the Purries at Purrchance to Dream.

Team PP-M-SS is Team Lounging!

Pasha sent representatives of her five feline Cat-O-Lympic team, PP-M-SS (as displayed by their team blog below) to enter the Team Lounging event.  From front to back are House Panthers Sima (front) and Moonjoo (middle) with fluffy CowCat Sweet in the rear position.

Notice how the team is taking full advantage of Sima's silky black furs an' how the momentum of the Team Lounge flows seamlessly between the members (especially between the first two lounge positions:  Sima an' Moonloo!  Having Sweet in the rear position certainly leaves this effort with a strong finish in the judge's eyes.  Sweet is gorgeous!

Our best furriends: Daphne an' Jack!

Our Uncle Mo ... "Not the Mama" from "Purrchance to Dream" ... captured this Team Lounging effort by Purry members Daphne an' Jack.

Notice how Jack's furs are coordinated beautifully ... an' Daphne's are equally contrasted ... with the seat cushion in their lounging platform!  Clearly both asleep, competitor Jack is "spooning" Miss Daphne, his athletic partner in this world-class lounge.  Great use of feline stretchiness for maximum surface area coverage!

Hey! It's Eric an' Flynn an' they're Team Lounging!

Long-time furriends an' Gorgeous Gingers Eric an' Flynn of Devon, England, are Team Lounging in their beautiful outside-time ManCat Cave ... called a purrison cage ... soakin' up the Vitamin D that keeps their orinch furs especially handsome!

Don't they look furry comfortable basking on their wooden platform amidst the warm summer breeze an' green grasses?  A wire fence lets bugs in (protien!), but keeps preditory types OUT!  The tall hedge behind them serves both to highlight their gingery goodness AND provides a welcome relief from the purr-purr-azzi who likely hound this dynamic duo's efurry moment!

Our woofie furriend, Oskar, and his sisfur, Chloe, are Team Lounging interspecies style for the 2012 Cat-O-Lympics!  Oskar says that this type of lounge is furry infrequent in his house 'cuz he says that Chloe "doesn't like him."

We think that she likes him just fine because this is a superb example of Team Lounging!  Perhaps she just doesn't like the rainy, gray weather outside, Oskar!

From left to right:  Devon, Tanner an' Smokey are coverin' as much surfice area as possible in their dynamic Team Lounging effort.  Clearly Devon is the leader in this orchestration of feline achievement as he's looking directly into the flashy box as it captures them in a Cat-O-Lympics competition lounge.

The competition judge is especially appreciative of the athletes' symmetry as Tanner, in his orinch an' white uniform is in the center position between Devon an' Smokey in their sleek black uniforms.  Such grace an' subtle beauty in this effort.  Very impressive, to say the least!

Today is a bittersweet day at our house.  Yes.  It IS Tom Cruise's fiftieth birthday.  But it was a more important day for the Feline Americans:  It is the fourteenth gotchaversary of our dear-departed stripy dood, Sparky Kyoot Fuzzypants.

In his honor, Charmee and I had bowls of chicken an' greens Fancy Feast for dinner an' we licked our bowls clean as he would have done if he were still with us instead of ruuning around like a crazy cat at the Rainbow Bridge.

Here's to you, dood!  Happy Gotchaversary!

From FINLAND -- Team Lounging!

Our Finnish furriend, Harris, an' his fambly have submitted their entry into the Team Lounging competition with a stellar group effort!  Check all SIX of them out as they take advantage of a sunny day soakin' in the sunshine on their outdoor deck or in the green, green grass!  (The only time WE get to go outside is in a PTU to visit the v-e-t at Banfield).  Charmee and I are so jealous!  Our "sunny spot" on the bed or at the windowsill just doesn't compare to real honest-to-goodness OUTSIDE!

The Zoolatry Girls are Loungin'!

Maggy (left) an' Zoey (right) from Zoolatry are demonstrating synchronized Team Lounging in this photo taken by the Zoolatry mom, Ann.  Notice how each of the ladies blends into her surroundings all the while beautifying their sunroom!  They look so comfy in their whicker rocking chairs.  If Zoey were facin' the other direction, the ladies would be mirror images!

Random Felines are Team Lounging!

Today's entry in the Team Lounging event in the 2012 Cat-O-Lympics is from the Random Felines:  (featured from top to bottom -- Mozart, Ivy, and Tommy).  As you can see, they are making good use of a carpeted cat tree for their team lounge.  All three are ... in fact ... sound asleep (an' their momma guarantees that all six eyes are firmly shut).

I must say that I am really enjoying this effort by the Random Felines 'cuz I think I might have a crush on their cat tree (mine is smaller and seems to be perpetually coated in Charmee's furs).
