It sounds like Charmee is trying to take good care of his Mom. He may not be the intellectual girlfriend that DaiseyMae Maus was, but Charmee seems to be stepping up to take care of you when the times are tough. Tell him that if he wants to be a real Mancat, he must learn to love grooming. Maybe he would be more willing to be groomed if he was rewarded with a treat following each days combing. It worked for my 3 and now they fight over who gets groomied 1st - a whole different problem.
Oh, Charmee, we are so happy that you are purring so vociferously in bed - you are taking good care of your Mom....... mom's really like it when we purr for them!
